Digital Garden, an eco-friendly QR code-based tree identification system, for Kannur University, Mangattuparamba Campus. A traditional tree identification board contains local names, scientific name and some features of that species. Which are common in most of the parks and gardens, they are limited to, include as much information in a small area. So, we are stepping towards another method that is a LASER engraved, engineered wood panel-based QR codes and cloud database. By this method, we can provide details as much as possible. This includes the dimensions, age and geometric location of that tree. Other advantages of this method are information is easy to share, maintain and update. It's durable, comparatively small-sized boards, cost-efficient, and the details are savable for future use and time-saving. Digital Garden, one of our dream project, is an output of 5 months of hard work with the help of 22 students of MSc. Wood Science and Technology 2017-2019 batch.
